about as much as steal your face golf balls huh? Maybe we could talk about your favorite version of Samba in the Rain. Actually though, Jerry was a HUGE fan of movies and claimed to be greatly influenced by horror movies and comic books, particularily an Abbott and Costello one. So THERE

Well said; you were able to get your point across without feeling the need to bring anyone's forbearers into it (Grandma thanks you, she's been getting pretty sore lately). I beleive someone posted a link to a later Jerry interview in which he goes on at length about his plans to develop a film project and also details his appreciation of film making and his love of it. Dead and Movies go hand in hand.

Dead and any abstract thinking go hand in hand to me. LOTS of tangents.

Sarcasm aside, a quick look at all the posts here, new and old, will show that not all have a direct link to the Dead. We enjoy the fact that there is actually something else to talk about out there. We have been accused in the past of being so focused on that one thing, that we miss out on so much else and I think that past discussions here disprove that notion. Well, if it does bother you, I do apologize and will alter my post here to read: "Hey, what is the worst movie you've seen AFTER A DEAD SHOW?" Is that more like it?

Ok, everyone, out of the pool. Looks like unless our post is directly Dead, we should move. Damn, it was fun while it lasted.
Oh, yeah, happy Thanksgiving, or was that post also uncalled for? I'm confused here.

Well said!!!

Gotta throw the movie Ticks into the mix (even though I kinda liked it)

"evil" marijuana growers using bad fertilizers that cause ticks to mutate and grow huge, thus terrifying a local campground - might have actually cost about $87.23 to make though - a bit more highbudget than some others previously mentioned.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was trying not to "Go all Dire" on anyone, hope it didn't come off that way :)

Hey Senor Wolf- Listening to the Compact King Crimson. Pretty intersting. Vocals are very Talking Heads to me. I'm having a much easier time keeping up than with the Addicted Jane. And may I concur with Some Dark Hollow about the new language To Dire someone. Like- I got all Dired up when that ahole cut me off on the highway this morning. And, I would have gotten all Dire on him if I had the time. Your rep precedes you!

Cool that you like the Adrian Belew era King Crimson stuff. Good analogy with Talking Heads - there are some similarities. He is a blast to see live in any of various band manifestations. Although the "new" King Crimson is a little tough to take at times in my opinion. Very postmodern instrumental work. Seems like he and Fripp have really gone off the musical cliff the past 5 years or so.

So glad I can be of linguistic entertainment value for you and somedarkhollow - lol. (i've been trying to chill a bit over the past year. apparently it hasnt worked out all that well :) my bad

This was sent to me yesterday, my birthday, from a very close friend who happens to manage a musician that has recently been working with Belew. Said friend and I met first day of college because he was wearing a Discipline t-shirt.

Note - this is neither Dead nor worst movie related so ignore at own peril (but if you love crimson, must see tv).

Thanks. I'll check it out at home. My youtube never streams right at work, which is odd because we have like a t3 line. Looked promising though. The only song I've heard so far that i remember is 21st Century Man (word missing as it escapes me)

So the second half of that Compact Crimson sounds like Moody Blues, no more Talking Heads. Is it a compilation/best of covering many years? Knew the Kings of the Crimson Court tune.

yes - first half is Adrian Belew Crimson and second part is old Crimson. (i think Greg Lake, but i may be mistaken)_ - i do have more of their old stuff and their newer stuff if you are interested.

I can see the Greg Lake effect(=Moody Blues). So the other Crimson- is it newer, older, both? Very unfamiliar with the band except the name of Robt Fripp.

the newer stuff is very hard to desribe. wish i could put it into words. all instrumental. can be harsh at times. very discordant at times. very jazzy other times. hmmmm - i'm blowin out my ass cause i can't put words to it. i will certainly send you a copy of the boxed set they put out a couple of years ago with Belew, Fripp, Levin, and (a drummer whom i can't remember his name). It's different. You may like it, you may not. No problem for me to spend a couple of bucks in postage to see if you like it though. Let me know man.
